The Great Healion Race The Steam and Steel Chronicles Book 2 eBook Cameron Chapman

Four years after Airship Captain Stig Rayner left Isabelle Feeney Hemsworth on a London sidewalk with a sizable windfall tucked into her pocket, she’s built a life for herself hauling cargo out of Moscow. When a trans-continental race is announced—with a lucrative cargo contract as prize—it’s too good an opportunity for her to pass up. Unfortunately, it requires a teammate, and Isabelle has pissed off just about everyone who might be suitable. With one exception...
Life hasn’t been good for Stig since he deserted Isabelle in London. A string of bad decisions and worse luck have left him and his airship barely limping along. He heads for Moscow—home of the cheapest and shoddiest repair yards around. But the vodka flows like water and it’s easy enough to get whatever kind of fix he’s after. All he has to do is figure out how he’ll pay for his repairs when the time comes...
In Book Two of The Steam and Steel Chronicles, The Great Healion Race, we’ll follow the trials and adventures of a reunited Isabelle and Stig as they race halfway around the world against formidable opponents.
The Great Healion Race The Steam and Steel Chronicles Book 2 eBook Cameron Chapman
The descriptions of the steam punk technology are merely adequate and the race which frames the story is background, nothing more. But the rendering of the relationship between Stig and Isabelle is why this book is worth a read. This is not Edward and Bella, living in perfection for all eternity. These are two adults with overwhelming baggage as the ballast for their journey. I especially appreciated how Ms. Chapman allowed her protaganists to be messy, angry and human. I hope part three is coming soon.Product details

The Great Healion Race The Steam and Steel Chronicles Book 2 eBook Cameron Chapman Reviews
Very engaging story, a few minor typos/misspelled words but engrossing! The author weaves a nice tapestry of characters. Me Likey
you will like this book if you like...
1. alternating 1st POV between female and mae leading characters.
2. light romance with a steampunk background
3. novellas dont bother you. the main story line is wrapped up by the end but character driven ones persist.
things not to like...
1. i wouldnt buy this hoping for a huge steampunk mythos. not terribly complicated in that way... mainly a character driven story.
2. well it is a novella... more please.
it certainly has the spirit of turn of the 20th century serial cliffhangers. great fun.
